Every hero deserves an equal chance to step up to the table, roll for initiative, and shape the story. In a significant step toward making tabletop roleplaying games more inclusive, Wizards of the Coast has announced a partnership with Sirius Dice and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) to unveil the Dungeons & Dragons Accessible Adventures – Disability Pride Dice Set.
This newly released 7-piece polyhedral dice set is meticulously designed to lower long-standing physical and cognitive barriers for players with disabilities. Inspired by extensive research and collaboration from the Disability & Accessibility Alliance (DAA)—an employee resource group representing Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast staff—the collection was crafted to accommodate adventurers with low vision, neurodivergence, dyslexia, color vision deficiency, and mobility impairments. By marrying thoughtful, user-focused design with striking aesthetics, the project aims to ensure that every critical roll and unforgettable table moment can be experienced by a broader spectrum of players.
The initiative also incorporates robust digital support through D&D Beyond, bridging the gap between physical tabletop sessions and online campaigns. Furthermore, a portion of the proceeds from every sale is dedicated to supporting the AAPD, reinforcing a collaborative approach rooted in the disability community’s core advocacy principles.
Accessibility and Adventure at the Table
For many tabletop enthusiasts, standard dice sets present hidden hurdles that can turn a leisure activity into a frustrating experience. Bailey Vaughan, a D&D Beyond Senior Content Specialist and DAA Champion of Accessibility Advocacy and Education, notes that the foundation of the Disability Pride Dice Set grew directly out of these recognized pain points within the community.
"We knew going in that since the disability community is extremely diverse, we wouldn’t be able to create a set of dice that addresses every barrier a disabled player may face," Vaughan explains. "Instead, our goal is to show how small adjustments can make a huge difference in terms of accessibility."
Those small adjustments manifest in every facet of the product, starting with the physical packaging. The set comes housed in packaging featuring an easy-open cap, a thoughtful modification designed to assist players with low vision or limited dexterity in easily identifying, opening, and storing their gear.
The dice themselves break away from traditional manufacturing standards through targeted design choices. They feature significantly increased font sizes to aid readability, carefully curated colors that remain distinct for individuals with color vision deficiencies, and the incorporation of the OpenDyslexic font to assist players with dyslexia. Additionally, the set includes a unique, arch-style four-sided die (d4) designed to improve visibility and handling compared to traditional pyramid shapes.
Despite the heavy emphasis on functional accessibility, the design team was careful not to sacrifice visual appeal. The color palette draws direct inspiration from the Disability Pride Flag, originally created by disabled activist Ann Magill, allowing players to celebrate their identity while engaging in their favorite hobby.
"A lot of us are also dice goblins and love to collect fun dice to show our friends at the table," Vaughan notes. "Our team wanted to create something visually exciting while keeping our commitment to accessibility."
Play Anywhere with D&D Beyond Integration
Modern tabletop roleplaying rarely happens in just one setting, often alternating between in-person gatherings around a physical table and virtual sessions hosted across digital platforms. To accommodate this hybrid style of play, the Disability Pride Dice Set is deeply integrated with D&D Beyond.

Every purchase of the physical dice set includes a redemption code that unlocks a digital version of the set on D&D Beyond. For players who primarily engage in online campaigns or prefer virtual tools, the digital dice set is also available as a standalone purchase on the platform.
While the digital rendering is not an exact one-for-one physical replica, many of the core accessibility-driven design adaptations have been successfully translated into the digital interface. These features help dismantle common barriers related to visual identification and numerical readability. By providing the flexibility to roll physical dice or utilize digital support tools, the initiative aims to empower players with the autonomy to choose the medium that best aligns with their individual accessibility needs.
For Vaughan, the digital integration offers a personal solution to a common challenge. "For myself personally, I adore the game of Dungeons & Dragons but really struggle with the cognitive load of calculating each roll," she shares. "Having the dice available on D&D Beyond means I can share my disability pride with my party while still using the support the platform offers."
AAPD Joins the Party
A cornerstone of the new product launch is its philanthropic component. Ten dollars from every purchase of the Accessible Adventures – Disability Pride Dice Set goes directly to the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). The organization works tirelessly to increase the political and economic power of people with disabilities through advocacy, coalition building, and leadership development.
Vaughan emphasizes that the partnership with the AAPD underscores the importance of authentic representation and community inclusion. The collaboration reflects a foundational tenet of the disability rights movement: nothing about us, without us.
"What this means is that conversations and decisions about the disability community should happen with the disability community," Vaughan says. "This has been a core principle for everything we do as an employee resource group and it was important for us to find a partner that also embodied this phrase. We thought who better than a team that has been advocating alongside the disability community for the past 31 years."
Whether players are battling chromatic dragons, untangling complex political intrigue in a royal court, or simply sharing stories around a weekend table with friends, the introduction of these specialized dice represents a celebration of the core philosophy that everyone belongs in the shared narrative of the game.
Maria Town, President and CEO of the AAPD, highlights the broader implications of the collaboration for the tabletop community at large.
"There should be no barriers to play in any world—whether real or fantastical," Town says. "In Dungeons & Dragons, you can dream up a fantastical world full of adventure. With the creation of these dice, now the act of play will be as unlimited as Dungeon Masters’ imaginations or the characters players create. We’re grateful to Sirius Dice for their partnership and commitment to accessibility in designing these dice."
