Every hero deserves a fair and equitable chance to roll for initiative, step into the theater of the mind, and experience the timeless magic of tabletop roleplaying. In a significant step toward universal tabletop gaming, Wizards of the Coast has announced an inspiring collaboration alongside Sirius Dice and the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). Together, these organizations have officially unveiled the Dungeons & Dragons Accessible Adventures – Disability Pride Dice Set, a thoughtfully engineered 7-piece polyhedral set specifically designed to make collaborative storytelling and tabletop adventures more accessible for every kind of player gathered around the gaming table.
Shaped by extensive research, feedback, and insights from the Disability & Academic Alliance (DAA)—an employee resource group operating within Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast—this new collection was meticulously crafted for adventurers with low vision, neurodivergence, dyslexia, color vision deficiency, and mobility impairments. By combining striking visual appeal, intentional design considerations, and seamless readability, the collection represents a milestone in making the world’s greatest roleplaying game more welcoming to a broader community of players. Furthermore, with integrated digital support built directly into D&D Beyond for both in-person campaigns and remote digital play, the Disability Pride Dice Set helps ensure that every critical roll, every dramatic natural twenty, and every unforgettable campaign moment can be fully experienced and shared by all.
Accessibility and Adventure
The foundational philosophy behind the creation of the Disability Pride Dice Set stemmed directly from recognizing and addressing the everyday frustrations experienced by disabled players using standard, mass-market gaming accessories. Bailey Vaughan, a D&D Beyond Senior Content Specialist and a dedicated DAA Champion of Accessibility Advocacy and Education, notes that the design team approached the project with a clear and honest understanding of the community’s immense diversity.
"We knew going in that since the disability community is extremely diverse, we wouldn’t be able to create a set of dice that addresses every barrier a disabled player may face," Vaughan explains. "Instead, our goal is to show how small adjustments can make a huge difference in terms of accessibility."
Those thoughtful adjustments are woven into every aspect of the product, beginning before a player even opens the box. The packaging itself features an innovative, easy-open cap specifically designed to assist individuals with low vision or limited dexterity in easily identifying, opening, and storing their gaming gear. The dice themselves feature increased font sizes, high-contrast and easily distinctive colorways, the use of the specialized OpenDyslexic font to improve readability for players with dyslexia, and a unique, arch-style four-sided die (d4) design that dramatically improves visibility and handling compared to traditional pyramidal shapes.
While accessibility and ergonomic function took center stage during the creative process, the design team remained steadfast in ensuring that style and aesthetic appeal were never compromised. The striking color palette pays direct homage to the official Disability Pride Flag, which was originally designed by disabled activist Ann Magill.
"A lot of us are also dice goblins and love to collect fun dice to show our friends at the table," Vaughan notes. "Our team wanted to create something visually exciting while keeping our commitment to accessibility."

Play Anywhere with D&D Beyond
To ensure that players can enjoy their adventures regardless of how or where they choose to gather, the Disability Pride Dice Set includes a robust digital component fully integrated with D&D Beyond. With every physical purchase of the set, players receive a specialized digital code to unlock a corresponding virtual version of the dice set directly within the platform, facilitating accessible gameplay across both traditional in-person sessions and online virtual tabletops. Additionally, players who primarily game in digital spaces have the option to purchase the digital version of the set independently.
While the digital iteration is not a rigid one-for-one visual replica of the physical polyhedral set, many of the core design adjustments and readability enhancements have been seamlessly translated into the D&D Beyond ecosystem. This digital integration helps dismantle long-standing barriers regarding item identification, text clarity, and cognitive load during gameplay. By offering the flexibility to roll physical dice at a traditional table or utilize the accessible digital component online, Vaughan emphasizes that the initiative empowers players with the autonomy to select the exact gaming experience that best suits their individual accessibility needs.
"For myself personally, I adore the game of Dungeons & Dragons but really struggle with the cognitive load of calculating each roll," Vaughan shares. "Having the dice available on D&D Beyond means I can share my disability pride with my party while still using the support the platform offers."
AAPD Joins the Party
A vital and impactful component of this innovative release is its direct philanthropic support for the disability community. Ten dollars from every purchase of the Accessible Adventures – Disability Pride Dice Set goes directly toward funding the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), a premier national organization dedicated to increasing the political and economic power of people with disabilities. Vaughan points out that the partnership with the AAPD underscores the fundamental importance of building genuine community through play and ensuring that disabled individuals are central to those conversations from the very beginning.
"There is a saying in the disability community—’nothing about us, without us,’" Vaughan says. "What this means is that conversations and decisions about the disability community should happen with the disability community. This has been a core principle for everything we do as an employee resource group and it was important for us to find a partner that also embodied this phrase. We thought who better than a team that has been advocating alongside the disability community for the past 31 years."
Whether players are battling fire-breathing dragons, unearthing ancient underground mysteries, or simply gathering around a kitchen table with close friends to share a weekly campaign, the Accessible Adventures Disability Pride Dice Set stands as a vibrant celebration of what makes the hobby truly magical: the fundamental truth that everyone belongs in the story.
"There should be no barriers to play in any world—whether real or fantastical," says Maria Town, President and CEO of the AAPD. "In Dungeons & Dragons, you can dream up a fantastical world full of adventure. With the creation of these dice, now the act of play will be as unlimited as Dungeon Masters’ imaginations or the characters players create. We’re grateful to Sirius Dice for their partnership and commitment to accessibility in designing these dice."
